From: Brian Braunschweiger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> It is not the end of the work if I never get DVDs to mount in this drive. The main thing is having a non-SCSI burner I can use in (my only other is an external SCSI) but I am curious. Is the fault likely in the drive I am using or in the Mac? How can I troubleshoot this?
I don't think Apple's built-in DVD player will work with non-Apple DVD drives.
Have you tried playing the DVD with VLC?
Oops, you know what? I don't know if you're on 9 or X. All of the above is advice for OS X.
If you're on 9, check to see if your "UDF" extension is on or present. If not, there's your problem.
