I also have an iMac DVD 400 G3, which I bought new in Feb. 2000. It came with an orange OS 9.0 CD, plus the restore version and CD's for a number of extra programs like Quicken that came with the package. Since then I've upgraded to OS 9.04, 9.1, 9.2, plus OS X, starting with 10.1, now at 10.2.6 (Jaguar) They all work fine, but I still tend to do most of my stuff in OS 9. It helps to increase your RAM - the computer came with 64 megs, but I've increased it to 512. Check the Apple website for updates, and download them to help keep everything running smoothly.
