You don't mention what OS version you are running. I know OS 9 comes with a basic Apple Remote Access Server. That will let you turn the eMac into a dialup host. From there, the iMac dials into it, connects using Apple Remote Access, and is treated as if it is now sitting on the same network as the eMac, including getting out over the eMacs internet connection.
