I'm considering upgrading the hard drive on my iMac DV 400 to a 120G Maxtor
L01P120 7200rpm Ultra Ata/133, but the manufacturer recommends an ATA PCI
card for non-G4 Macs.

I think the manufacturer meant to imply that if you want the full speed the drive is capable of, you would want to install a ATA 133 bus controller in your older Mac. That doesn't mean the drive won't operate in an iMac, just that it can only pass data at the rate the built-in controller uses -- which is either 100 or 66 MHz depending on the model.

Does anyone know if it will install in a slot-loading
G3?

The card will NOT install in an iMac, because there's no place for it. The DRIVE will install just fine.

There is only ONE WAY to get through the hype for and against the new film "Farenheit 9/11" -- see it for yourself and make up your own mind. Everybody else, please shut up.
