Hi Fellow iMac users,
Last week I installed the latest security update for 10.3.4 on my computer. When I got back to use my computer this week, to load pictures from my digital camera, iPhoto kept giving me issues about not being able to create the files. The problem it turns out is this:
Some how the computer thinks that one of my partitions is full at a specific number, what ever size it was when I installed the update. The problem is that even the computer shows the drive still having free space... It just happens to stop being able to save to the partition when it approaches the false full number. I have run permissions several times, held command-s then typed the "fsck -y -f" at start up. I have also deleted a few files off hoping that would help.
The partition used to be my OS X partition for Jaguar, but somehow when I played with the appearances the file structure went awol. I was unable to fix the trouble, but I went and installed Panther on my OS 9 partition. Everything was working fine till the security update. Should I go invest in a program such as Tech Tool, or Disk Warrior? Or is there a simpler solution to this hard drive problem?
I have a summer 2000 Snow iMac Special edition, I have upgraded the hard drive to a "80 GB seagate" hard drive with a 9.31 GB and a 65.2 GB partitions.
Thanks, Michael
