Dear Listers,

I haven't poted to the list in a good while, but now I have what may shortly
become a serious memory problem with my computer...

I am suffering a memory shortage on my iMac Rev. A. on its 4 gig harddrive I
only have 592.5 MB of space left and the machine is running quite slowly.
Earlier today there was about 840 MB of free space and so to try to free up some
extra room on the HD I decided to copy a sizeable batch of files, totaling
about 30 MB, to an Imation Superdrive disc.

The transfer of all that data to the Imation SuperDrive disc was successful
but I inadvertently worsened the space limitation problem on the HD. What it
was was that, when I did so I did not remember that Norton FileSaver would
make copies of these files, thus causing the further reduction of the free space
on the HD that I mentioned above.

Later when I opened Norton FileSaver I could see all the files I had
transferred/removed right there in it available to be 'recovered'. As they are taking
up as much or more space than before I had tried to transfer them I would
like to remove them from FileSaver to free up needed space, but I cannot find a
way to do so.

Can someone out there provide me with a series of steps to take to remove
this data from FileSaver, please, that would not still further reduce the hard
drive memory available? In hindsight I think I should have turned off FileSaver
before I tried to remove the files to a storage disc.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

TIA
