Hello all,
I installed an MCE Technologies (http://www.mcetech.com) 24x Internal Slot-Loading CD-RW Drive into my Rev. D iMac, and it is working GREAT for burning CDs. I don't have Firewire on this old machine, so the external burner I've been using was mighty slow over USB-1. Now I'm screaming along, and can burn using iTunes in OS X (probably Finder burn, too -- haven't tried that yet!).
Now, this isn't a big deal, but I'm supposed to be able to watch DVDs with this drive, too. Hardly a necessary activity for me, but still, it's a feature, and since I paid for it, I'd like it to work! When I put a DVD in, the DVD Player comes up, and the controls come up, then a dialog box appears that says:
DVD Player encountered a serious error.
The current machine or system configuration is not supported. [-70013]
Bummer! I've been all over the web looking for answers, and the only thing I've found is some kind of Developer Tools issue. I've never installed Developer Tools, and I don't really want to. Hopefully someone here has already run across this sort of thing and can give me a hand here...
