I've decided to go with the latest 17" emac. I know my old scanner (Umax Astra 3400) won't work under Panther, but will I be able to switch to Classic mode and use it that way? I haven't succeeded in finding a patch for it. Thanks for the help. Barbara
Very likely you can. At the school I help at we have several UMax USB Scanners and were concerned we wouldn't be able to use them with Jaguar. While UMax isn't supporting them in 10 it did turn out that our scanners work okay in Classic.
