I bought a Pismo powerbook on ebay and it came with OS 10.0.3 and only one X
disk but, without classic installed, it's basically useless as is.

Uh, what? OS X doesn't need Classic, and neither do most users after a week with OS X. If it wasn't for Dice-It, I'd never fire up Classic AT ALL anymore.

I have OS
9 discs from a dead imac and ethics lectures aside, how can I get the Pismo
to accept the imac system 9 from the disk?

The short answer is that you can't get the Pismo to accept the iMac OS 9 disc. The iMac discs are machine-specific.

If you want OS 9 on that machine, you'll need to purchase a "universal" (aka retail) copy of it from somewhere. I would suggest looking to megamacs.com or smalldog.com for assistance. They're REAL cheap these days.
