Great group. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay them to get together...
Harrison formed the group while recording solo stuff at Bob Dylan's home studio. Jeff Lynne was producing. Petty was brought in for one song for his voice, and stayed. Orbison was courted by them because of his reputation and Harrison had written a song that he wanted him to sing on (written with Orbison in mind). It was called "Handle with care"
