George Harrison Tom Petty Roy Orbison (he died, that's why they broke up)
Well, there's actually a story there ... the other members decided to do another album and solicited Del Shannon ("Runaway") to be in the group, but HE died before they could all get together. At that point, the remaining Wilburys decided it was time to let the project go.
Bob Dylan Jeff Lynne Ringo Starr played drums, but was not listed as a member
I didn't know that.
Orbison was courted by them because of his reputation and Harrison had written a song that he wanted him to sing on (written with Orbison in mind). It was called "Handle with care"
I should mention that, as a fan of Roy Orbison, I still get chills whenever I hear him sing the part that begins "I'm so tired of bein' lonely". Harrison really knew how to write for Orbison, as did Elvis Costello (any Orbison fans should definitely obtain a copy of "The Comedians" from the iTunes Music Store or from "A Black and White Night Live" CD).
