Wish I could explain... I've done tons of work on PC's and Mac's with and without the strap and this is the first problem I've ever encountered.. I'm hoping I just loosed off a cable that I never noticed or something but I've had it apart again a couple times to try and find the problem all to no avail. Either way, I'm taking into the real pros in town here to see exactly what's wrong with it and get it repaired.

Can you explain a little more in detail ?

I have worked on masses of Macs and PCs, never use a strap
even when I replace memory, CPUs etc.
