I downloaded several photos onto my cluttered desktop and when I moved an open window to get at them I saw a file that looked like a plain white sheet. I assumed that it was a jpeg that needed me to rename it with the .jpg extension (this has been necessary in the past for some reason) but when I went to move it with my mouse to better rename it it disappeared. It had a weird name like bzqwx.
Any chance that that was something malicious? I can't find it in the tras or on my desktop now.

Thanks

Sounds like it was a temp file from you Downloading something. The next time you are downloading a file, look
at your desktop. I would not worry about it.
