I've been on the Apple Help Forums trying to deal with this issue but no
one can solve this problem. I just bought an APBS that my iMac 17" 1Gz is
wired into via ethernet. I was told to buy a Belkin 802.11g for my Toshiba
laptop running XP. I configured the APBS and the installed the card. The
Mac connects to the broadband modem perfectly through the APBS but the PC
recognizes the wireless network, sends packages, but doesn't receive
packages. Everything in the Internet Protocol dialog box reads
"unavailable" and "repair" is greyed out. I tried turning password
encryption off on the APBS but nothing changes. I've fiddled with every PC
control panel I can find but nothing seems to do anything. Anyone out
there know how to get around this?
Well, there's my preferred option (dump the Windows laptop and buy a real computer), but just in case that's not viable right now :), how about downloading the Admin Utiility for Windows from Apple and see if that helps?
You might also try hard-wiring the PC to the APBS to set things up and THEN unwire it.
