Thanks Dan. I did call our cable company to add the new G5 to the line and they suggested using a router between the two computers. With the router both Macs can be on the internet at the same time and I don't have to move the cable between them.

And, if you're moving the cable modem from computer to computer, don't forget to power-cycle it. The modem will only talk to n devices, where n is determined by your cable company (typically 1, and you pay for more). To make it forget which MAC address (device/computer) it has seen, you must leave the modem unpowered for about 30 seconds.
