I=B9m Interested in upgrading the hard drive on my DV iMac (G3, 400Mhz, 384Mb
RAM). I found a Maxtor 60Gb ATA Drive (7200rpm) for $29.95 (after rebates)=
.
My question is whether this drive is compatible with the iMac.

Yes.

  Will I need
to buy anything else or utilize any special drivers?

No.

  How difficult to
install?

In that model, not very. You simply need to remove the RAM (for safety reasons), remove the bottom casing (several philips-head screws) and the heat shield (several more philips-head screws), then remove the old drive and replace it with the new drive. Detailed instructions are online, just google for iMac DV replace HD or similar term.
