600 MHz 2001 Graphite iMac running 9.2.2 and 10.3.5
Problem: bright areas such as open folder windows cast a shadow to their right. The shadow graduates back to the normal background colour after approx. 2.5 inches.
Firmware is up to date.
The VGA output is fine.
Doesn't appear to be an interference problem: have tested in a number of locations.
Has anyone else encountered this?
This seems to be popping up more and more! I am having the same problem on my 2000 iMac Indigo running 9.2.2. It is on 24/7/365 but I do let a screen saver take over. When I bought it new it was fine. After getting another like it used I realized my screen was really dark. I got used to it tho so it was useable, just noticeably different. I had it fixed (hard drive went out) and the tech adjusted the brightness. It was better but still "different". I now have the same problem only mine goes all the way to the right. Dark colors make a light shadow, light colors make a yellow/dark shadow. When I start the box in the center is there and there is a dark shadow all the way to the edge. I am also seeing burn in on my screen when the screen is dark. Just doesn't seem right but I don't know what else to do. I keep hoping hubby will let me get a new iMac but so far no good.
Any other ideas - such as forming a group and picketing??? LOL!
