New to the list, new to Mac, but not new to Gentoo (I put lilo in Gentoo a couple of years ago). I have an iMac DV SE that I am trying to get Gentoo installed on, using the latest universal PPC release 2004.3. Created the partitions for the install using mac-fdisk, but the hda3 and hda4 devices are not in /dev, so I cannot mke2fs or mkswap those new partitions. I tried to run mkdev, but the Gentoo team seems to have forgotten to include it on the livecd. I there another way I can create the devices for the root and swap partitions so I can get them formatted and mounted?? Appreciate *any* help!
