Thanks for the link to SmartDisk!! The VST USB drives are supported in OSX. No driver is required. As usual I should have also done a search in OSX Help. The erasing and formatting are done through Disk Utility located in Applications/Utilities. Disk Utility supports formatting as MS-DOS.
