Yes, go to Versiontracker.com and look for something called "notification" by Mail.appetizer. Or go to their site. It's an app that gets put into your Mail preferences and you can have it show x amount of lines of an incoming email from selected mail boxes. If you click on the subject of the transparent panel of mail that appears on your desktop (which you can make appear in an area of your choice) you will open it and it can be read. When you close it with the X box it will be in the mailbox and show up as read. If you just read what is sitting there in preview mode and then dismiss it with the X box, it will be in your mail box as unread. The trick is to allow it as many lines in preview mode as you can so you can read it, close it and have it remain as unread till it's actually opened. Whew- was this clear for you?
