Over the past couple weeks, i had sent emails to the imac list regarding my computer not shutting down, restarting or logging out, and I have been unable to do an Archive Install of OS X as suggested, because of school, and so, just today, when i used Disk Utility's repair disk function, it said "hash table full (1024 entries)" and said it was unable to repair it. What does this mean? Anyway to fix it? thanks for any help!
Your directory is hosed. Your options are:
1. Buy DiskWarrior. It will probably be able to fix this. Tech Tool Pro 4 might be able to as well.
2. Erase the drive and reinstall OS X. You will lose whatever was on the drive before.
