Anyone know of a free URL redirect service ?

No, but would $1.99 do?

Godaddy.com is having a sale on ".info" domain names, just $1.99 for the first year. Buy one, then use their FREE forwarding and masking service to make your long URL look like "www.mydomain.info." Works GREAT, as you can see here:
http://www.martinfamilytree.info
(which is actually http://homepage.mac.com/chasm/PhotoAlbum23.html, but that's not very easy to remember, is it?)

Godaddy is fantastic, BTW- we own about 50 domain names and use them for hosting, as well.

However, <http://www.dyndns.org/> might be able to do what you want with a free account.
