Cannot put a finger on it right now, but a while back I tried to view some kind of monster list type of web page. Maybe it was literally thousands of widgets for sale all in a big vertical column. It was intolerably slow on the Mac - for instance scrolling down a few inches would take a minute or so. Say, three rapid rolls of the scroll wheel down, then two back up and then one down again, would provide entertainment for an evening (only if there was a pint of beer in the house.) Maybe the problem you had was of this type? I will try to find the webpage to see if it is still a problem. In any case, the same page was no problemo on a low rent PC. Go figure.
Interestingly, I used to have the same problem with the Mac on the deviantart.com website but the problem is totally gone now. Not sure what changed - the Mac or the site. Final piece: lately it can take a minute or so to "go back" during eBay surfing. For instance, if I look at one item and then hit "Back" to return to the main category listings, then I may find myself waiting forever. Never had the problem until recently. Anyone else having this issue with eBay? I wonder if it has to do with pop-up blocker or Virex or ??? JC --- "Dennis B.
