From: Donald Keenan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I didn't know that "significant" improvements are underway.
I apologise. I forget that not everyone has access to/watches the MacWorld/WWDC keynotes with the interest I do! :)
Yes, Tiger will offer some big improvements in Mail, and no I'm not disclosing anything I shouldn't be by saying so -- Steve has already mentioned:
*Ability to create HTML mail (boo hiss, I say, but the reality is that there's a demand for this)
* Smart Mailboxes (automatically updating mailboxes based on what YOU want to see in them)
and a lot more.
(if you have a high-speed connection and some time, I invite you to watch Steve's WWDC keynote yourself:

No, not at all! iCal and Mail/Address Book work very well together (particularly in conjunction with .Mac/iSync), iCal can publish web pages of calendars, and export calendars in the standard vCal format. Entourage was updated along with the rest of Office to work fully with PC-based Outlook calendars.I'm not as power user in any sense (except i dod seem to live via a Web browser), but I get the impression folks who like the functionality of Office's Calendar and who sync with it, are at a loss on our platform.
I've used Mail and I guess I liked it's simplicity because it didn't overwhelm me with options. It used to be down right buggy. Now i just find it sluggish. If I can run Tiger on my 600 MHz and 500 MHz machines, I'll look forward to the new version.
A good video card and lots of RAM are more important to OS X than raw processor speed. I can run Panther decently on a G3/300 machine, but it needs (loves) RAM. I don't know what Tiger's requirements are going to be, but it's possible that machines that have very weak video cards might (repeat MIGHT) be excluded.
