After my 15'' G4 800MHz FP iMac showed some kind of odd behavior - such as fuzzy resolution (following no display changes and after waking from sleep) and intermittent network connection loss (on a direct Ethernet connection to a wireless D-Link 514 router connected to a Cisco 678 DSL modem, and also on an Airport-equipped G3 iMac upstairs receiving from the D-Link), I shut down the G4 and disconnected the modem from the wall, then later shut down the G3. Both units are running 10.2.8.

When I restarted the G4 I got a warning dialog box I had seen once before, and I hope someone can decipher it for me:

        ! (inside red stop-sign symbol)
HeaderofDallasPartialInsert (in bold)

StringofDallasPartialInsert

        (ButtonofDallasPartialInsert) (blue button label)

Both times I clicked the button and things seemed to proceed as normal, though performance of late seems slow, unless I'm imagining it. What is this? Seems suspicious to me (spyware? Everyone says OS X is nearly immune.).

Stephen
