That's good Chas. I was just passing on to the list something I had heard which I thought might be of interest / use.
System profiler does tell you what brand of HD you have.



I will use
the replacement when it comes as a back up.

Pity you didn't have a backup BEFORE this happened, but I guess you'll
be in the habit now. Who would have thought that a drive would fail
after 100 hours?

It's not such a problem because I was still playing with it. I had not begun to do any serious work on it.


The rep told me today they have recovered the drive by swapping the controller boards.
