Hello Friends: A friend's bondi blue went down a while back. They told her that it was her HD. Not worth it to replace, so, she bought a flat panel G4. My tangerine 400 DV needed a bigger and faster drive, so, I swapped mine into hers and bought an 80 GB for the tangerine. Well, I had left the old HD formatted with an OS9 partition and an OSX partition. The blue started up in X and wouldn't recognize the CD drive so's I could wipe and install only 9.
Today, I swapped the HDs and did a reformat with the old HD in my tangerine. Got the old HD back in the bondi and it makes the start up sound and that's it. A blank screen. I'm ready to toss in the towel.
Any suggestions?
The tray loading iMacs require the boot OS to be in a partition which is less than 8GB and is the first partition on the drive.
