I'm new to the list, but maybe this issue isn't. I'm trying to install 10.2 on the following system: iMac/iMac DV SE (Graphite Slot Loading CD-ROM ) Factory installed, 192 SD RAM OS 9.2.2 4.1.9f1 BootROM Built on 09/14/01
I'd like to get to OS 10.2, but have repeatedly had problems with video cutting out once the OS is upgraded. Behavior seems to reflect the well documented problems with lack of firmware update, however, this system's firmware IS updated (according to boot in to open firmware and the firmware testing utility on 10.2 install CD). I've already initialized the drive, zeroing all data, and started from original iMac Software CD, up through 9.1, back to 9.2.2. While the system maintains date and time info, I'm not certain the battery is still at full charge. After zeroing all data, I actually got the iMac to boot to OS 10.2 from the hard drive, the screen goes blank after loading system, and the welcome to OS X music plays with a dead screen. I've now re-initialized, and returned to 9.2.2. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks! Jason
