I've been using Photoshop Elements 2 for the last few years and absolutely love it. It is definitely a step up from 5 LE and is OS X native. I had planned to buy Elements 3, but after reading about the changes to the interface, I've decided to stick with 2, which I find to be near perfect for what I do. You can probably find it pretty cheap now on the Swap List or at resellers online. Alternatively, 5 LE actually runs pretty well in Classic mode as long as you have plenty of RAM, which you do, so if you like it, stick with it.

What we love is, the old PhotoShop 5 Lite...came bundled with, something or other, a few years ago.
It is versatile, simple, easy to use, but now only available in Classic mode since upgrade to Panther .3.8 from 9.2.2.
Any suggestions for software, along the lines of Lite, that can be in used in X?
