I also have had continual problems (see below) with my internal modem.

When I start up ZTerm, the messages I get are "modem is not available. Please select another port:" and then "### Error: 2 opening port" -- nothing is shown (and nothing happens) when the above commands are typed.
Shutting the iMac down (*not* restarting), then starting up again after waiting about a minute, will also reset the modem.
This has no effect on mine, even if it's shut down overnight. Any other ideas?
