Hi Listas.
When I had my recent HD trouble, I asked the distributor to put a 250 GB disk in the G5, so I could get it back as quickly as possible, and so I could use the replacement HD as a backup. But the replacement is a SATA drive - I cannot seem to find a case for a 3.5" SATA drive with Firewire out.
http://www.macworld.com/news/2005/02/11/fwdepot/index.php has a notice about a SATA tray that's supposed to fit in some firewire enclosures. Maybe you can track down something from that.
Does the G5 just take SATA? Otherwise, I'd ask for an ordinary IDE/ATA drive. I don't quite understand the problem--if it works in that system, why not just leave it in there? Did you end up with two SATA drives?
