Check out the Sonnet Harmoni upgrade board. Gives you 600MHz and a firewire port!!! About $280. I just installed one on my original Rev B Bondi 233 and it runs OS 10.2.8 like a champ. I haven't been able to run a DVD yet because my DVD drive is external firewire. Burns CD's just fine and I've installed programs from DVD's but, since the system did not see an internal DVD drive, the DVD player would not load from the OSX disk. So, now MY questions: 1. What kind of DVD-ROM Drive did you install and how did you do it? -- 2. What is VLC?

It's proved so far to be otherwise entirely adequate for her needs. So while I appreciate the anticipated suggestions to just replace the whole thing with a slotload or better model, that just ain't gonna happen.
