Simon - I would suggest looking in your browser's preferences and seeing if you can limit the number of total connections at any one time and the total connections to any one server. Under iCab (for example) it's under 'Network' in the prefs window. Try progressively lowering these two numbers till you see better performance when you're both browsing. You'll need to do the same for both your computers or one will still hog available bandwidth. As for getting a connection with higher bandwidth - sure, it can't hurt. If you've the money a second connection would be great, but it seems overkill here (I don't know about your telecom and ISP - but I'd have to get a second job for a few weeks to afford another install). A faster connection and/or limiting the number of http connections ought to do the trick. If you have any trouble let me know and I'll do my best to help out.
