Hi

I have an eMac with DVDROM/CDRW and 40GB HD. I dont fancy ripping it apart and
upgrading the internal drives, so want to go the firewire route as USB is too
slow.

I have seen the firewire enclosures that fit one drive and these seem to work
with the Mac. Would I be correct in thinking I can put a Pioneer DVD 109 drive
in
them for burning DVDs and this would work fine.

I have also seen the firewire enclosures with more than one 5.25" slot (usually
two or four bay) - they look like mini PC towers. Would this work on my eMac if
I put in a DVD rewrite drive and installed a second hard drive (say 120GB) would
this work fine.

Then technically I would have an internal DVDROM/CDRW + internal 40GB hard
drive,
plus a DVDRW drive and additional 120GB hard drive.

Would having two drives on one firewire cable, strain the eMac or cause any
difficulties burning DVDs while using the second hard drive. I know from PC
experience two drives on the same IDE cable can interfere and sometimes slow
down
each other when accessing both at the same time.

Your help on this matter would be very much appreciated.

Regards
