I just KNEW someone would recommend PowerMail. In fact, my original draft
of the post mentioned that I tried PowerMail and didn't like it, but then
I drifted into a ramble about all the other clients I've tried, and some
of the bumps in the road dealing with some of the developers of those
clients. And then I started bashing some of those developers, and
realized that if said developers of said email client (not powermail)
were on this list, they may take it personally (as they should... the
dicks!), and some of them could give me further grief if they so desired.
So I deleted that whole paragraph before sending my post in an effort to
avoid ruffling some particular feathers that could come back to haunt me
later. (Of course, I never got as far as mentioning that some other
developers of some other email clients were an absolute pleasure to deal
with... but I'll mention it here, just to throw off the ones that were
jerks so they can't really tell if I'm talking about them :-) )

Yes, I've tried PowerMail, and I really don't see why people keep saying
it is very Emailer like. I suspect it is because PowerMail makes that
claim. And I suspect they make that claim because if I understand
PowerMail's history correctly, they originally wanted to port Emailer to
OS X and couldn't obtain permission from Apple (I could have the story
wrong however)... so they went about duplicating it instead. I guess in
their minds they are Emailer like, but I don't see it, and I don't
personally care for PowerMail. I'm sure it is a great product and works
really well for those that like it. I'm just not one of those people.

But it is nothing against PowerMail... I've tried many other email
clients, and I haven't liked any of them.
