Tested as doable either way, yet any wanted as bootable Systems
must All be located on partitions within(<) the first 8Gbs of the
HD, this is not something that can be worked around. afaik

Now to the heart of my query here regarding the OF on this
ol' 266Mhz which is now running both OS9.2.2 and OSX.3,
(btw- now connected to an ext. 17" display, 'because it is
showing all signs of it's dead internal 15", yet wanting to
fully confirm that it is indeed dead). While booted in OS9
ASP and OF both show that the OF version is 3.0.f2(and in
OSX I have not confirmed this as I am not sure if I can boot
into OF(can I?) , and System Profiler in OSX doesn't seem
to provide that info, and all attempts to update the OF to
3.0.f3 with the 1.2 upgrader only return a DB with a: "your
iMac's firmware is up to date" on screen, so could this mean
that the wished 3.0.f3 is not available to this rev.C/D(?) 266
Mhz model??, as both, of the prior 2 rev.D 333Mhz's were
both at 3.0.f3. Or should, I venture back to OS8.6 or OS9.1
and try the Firmware 1.2 updater again??, before giving up
on the Int. 15" display as really bad/dead(failure of the/it's;
Flyback Transformer(FBT) on the Power/Analog Video(PAV)
board).
And Yes, the whole of(and links):
<http://www.gileskennedy.com/panthereatsimac>
and:
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86117>
have both been gone over, and over..., therefore I must ask.
Do Please let me know, as this Ext. monitor is taking up lots
of valuable space in my very small crowded Mac closet. TIA
