My iMac is on a home network along with my Castle Iyonix (RISC OS) and
a Windows XP laptop.
At present, the Iyonix is the computer I use for email, but I want to
experiment with email on the iMac so I can decide whether or not to
transfer to that computer.
When I try to access email on the iMac it defaults to an email address
of [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is not my email address! It will let me edit
the address but once I've saved the changes it reverts to the default
address.
How do I set it up with my real email address?
To create a new account in Mail, open Mail preferences and choose the
Accounts tab. Click the plus sign in the bottom left corner. Choose
.Mac, POP, IMAP or Exchange from the drop-down menu, then fill in the
necessary details.
That's how it works in Mail 1.x, anyway, and I doubt that Mail 2.0 in
Tiger is significantly different (ISTR that you mentioned in another
post that you were using Tiger). It's a good idea to specify which
version of the OS, and of the relevant application, you're using, when
you ask a question: it helps people to work out the best answer.
