Sorry there. DNS is what translates a domain name such as www.google.com into it's IP Address, which in this instance is 66.102.7.104. Try entering the IP address into a web browser, and you will get the same thing as typing www.google.com.

I've seen instances where the domain points to two different IP addresses. For example www.thisdomain.com goes to one IP and thisdomain.com goes to another.

Hope that broke it down a little bit..
