Have tried in three or four different sessions tp load a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 3. Each time the same comment is returned. "There were errors installing the software. After numerous telephone calls reached a helpful person at Adobe support in Seattle Washington. Yes, I had repaired permissions, again (seems I have to do that particular task every two-three days of late) I had logged out and signed on as different user to no avail. Went into the Root and tried to load from there no avail. I was able to make a copy of the CD on the hard drive as requested however it seemed to me to be taking a long time (4 minutes) however when you're clocking up the minutes in long distance phone calls, any time waiting is felt as too long. The disc was copied so it wold seem to be good. The help person suggested kindly that given everything I had tried, and I had also gone to Adobe's help centre and reviewed the 140 odd suggestions there that just maybe there might be something faulty in the computer itself. Am tempted to reinstall the OS software once again and start over however in my mind's eye am leaning towards yet another faulty hard drive (30 gig)! Let's see...so far in 2.5 years of ownership this iBook has had three logic boards two hard drives, two screens, two disc drives (Not DVD), a keyboard, and a battery. Apple extended warranty is still in place however I must say I really wonder about this machine, my eMac before this was no happy machine either. Somebody on list told me this particular model of iBook was a troublesome item. I bought what I could afford then, a new G4 Powerbook here is C$2400.00 (plus15% tax); I don't have that kind of money these days. Have thought of maybe purchasing a lesser Mac but I like the portability of the laptop, it can go anywhere in the house or on the property. Ideas people?
