Apple recently made a public acknowledgment that the early version of
the G5 iMacs have a number of potential problems, so they have
extended their warranty to cover necessary repairs. See <http://
www.apple.com/support/imac/repairextensionprogram/> and (for a full
blown consumer's story) <http://www.tidbits.com/tb-issues/
TidBITS-777.html#lnk5>.
On the other hand, could this be something as minor as the fan
working harder during the hot days of summer?
Good luck,
Patrick Draine (G4 iMac)

Hi List
I bought my Imac G5 20 inch 2GB mem at the beginning of the year.
It used to be a very silent machine but in the last couple of weeks
I noticed
that it has become quite noisy.
Even in the morning when it starts up itself (and I'm not doing
anything) it makes a noise.
Somebody has any idea if this can be fixed?
