I've tried to order last week a G4 upgrade but after having some
email conversation the guy who wrote disappeared... I''m mean he
never ansered my mails again - then I've wrote to another mail adress
(I guess it was [EMAIL PROTECTED] or something) they once came back and
I explained them what I wanted to order, but only god knows why, they
never replied!
So something must be wrong - I guess the americans on this list can
get the issue cleared, maybe
But I thought they do not want to do business with me so I've choosed
daystar technologies for the upgrades - If someone does not find
their homepage I can go after it - I remember it was not the obvious
www.daystar etc. it has a 4 within the URL ;-)

Fastmac did a very nice job with the cpu switch -- I couldn't even
tell
they had desoldered and soldered. Don't expect a blazing speed
improvement, unless you're using programs that require the G4's
Altivec
capabilities. But there is a nice, noticeable overall speed boost as
might be expected from a faster processor.

Hmmm. It was up yesterday, and I haven't seen anything about them
being out of business or anything like that. I can't get there
either. Perhaps they've got server issues. Keep trying, e-mail
[EMAIL PROTECTED], or call 408-562-3900. They're related to Allmac,
and they're located in the SF Bay Area. I can't get to the Allmac web
site either, so it must be server problems.
