Thank you Misters Swaney, Cayenne, et. al., for your generous and
accurate advice. Upgrading to Panther was easy after I determined a
need to clean install OS 9 so as to take the firmware upgrade...archive
and install and on it went. The new finder features, universal access
for vision, junk mail filter and other features are great. And this is
still one generation old. Some of us need to be dragged into the new
century, and, of course, my bride can now get her ePatterns

ar.505.enu.bin file and select "Open with" then select either Stuffit
Expander or whatever version of Stuffit you have on your Mac.

Yes, just went to ''sjpw info'' again and noticed that opening
application is set for Toast. That explains one issue.
Next, pdf viewer preview?
Also, I do realize the os needs to be updated. That should not only
help with thus issue but also give more flexibility in viewing. So
I'll need to swallow my irrational fear of kernel panics.
I 'll apply the solutions that you and Mr. Cayenne suggest and go for
the pattern again.
