I'm intrigued from what I've heard and read here about the eMac. From Apple's web site, the options seem endless. Do this, marry that. Balance you check book, play songs! The skies the limit! Wow!
OS X + iLife + iWork/AppleWorks on any Mac.
And that wonderful 'Apple White' color! Maybe not as cool as the earlier 'lifesaver flavor colored Macs' but still elegant.
Shows dust/dirt and scratches quite well.
But one thing the web site doesn't say is how good is the clarity on store-bought DVD's?
The speakers are ok. The monitor is minimally acceptable; about the same quality as the Apple Multiple Scan 17" Display I bought used for $50 in 1999.
Personally, I don't like the eMac. A Mac Mini with a better quality monitor, or a used iMac, or a Dell is a far better choice.
Besides the display quality, my two biggest beefs are: 1. 50 pounds. A perfect choice for a small boat. 2. Smooth no-grip no-handle design. See #1.
