One speculation, super cheap iPod Shuffles. Our campus bookstore ran an ad with Apple in the student paper today advertising an "inventory clearance" of 512MB Shuffles for $50 each. While supplies last, no limit, I saw a number of people walking off with 3 to 5 in their hands. With rumors of smaller Shuffles in January, makes some sense. Though on the other hand, the intro to computer science classes this semester required students to purchase a Shuffle, so maybe the store really was just clearing an excess stock. But the fact this was as an Apple produced advertisement makes me think otherwise.
