From: Matt Phillips <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I'm in the process of moving, and my Ruby iMac, running 9.2 (I know, I'm behind the times) and still using dial up here (ok, I'm REALLY behind the times). I am moving into a place that will have cable access, going through a router. One machine runs windows, and I need to know what I have to do to have my trusty iMac to connect through the router. Any advice will be appreciated.
Shouldn't require much -- set your TCP/IP to Ethernet using DHCP. That should be more or less it.
PS. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you this, but I will anyway: IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON. Your Ruby iMac is a great machine, but you're going to have significant (and increasing) difficulty visiting modern web sites on it. We are currently experiencing the LAST generation of Macs that will even run Classic, so I might suggest to you that the time to start learning OS X and saving up for a new Mac is NOW while it is still not mandatory.
Believe me, I loved my old iMac G3/700 as much as you like your Ruby -- but it's time to move on.
