I am curious as to how the built in iSight cameras work on the new
iMacs ?

I use one every day. They work great.

Since they are built in, I am wondering how good or useful they are
really going to be compared to having an external iSight ?

Well, I confess that they are less "flexible" than a standalone iSight, since you can move that about a fair bit more than you can the entire iMac. But for normal conversation (which is how 90% of us use it), they work great. The auto-focus seems better, as does the picture quality.

I wonder
what the wide angle range is like ?

That's not really what it's designed for. It's designed to offer it's best picture quality on a subject about one to five feet away from the camera.

Cheers

Claiming that the Macintosh is inferior to Windows because most people use Windows is like saying that all other restaurants are inferior to McDonald's.
