I ended up using Pacifist to install mine as it kept telling me that it
could not be installed on my computer. I have an imac 500 slot load
with 500mb of ram. I have the CD install for an eMac I purchased as an
extra copy someone had. I also used the CD install set. I chose install
to drive (my boot drive) after inserting my first disk. I had to insert
my OS X 3.0 install CD afterward and start installation, then in the
menu choose change password (don't continue through installation) but
was only able to set it as root for the user and any password. I tried
the first time to change the login / password but it trashed the
install and I had to spend hours and re-install. This install also was
installed over OS X 3.0
