With an ATI All-In-Wonder remote you can assign functions to keys for remote operations. I recall, poorly, that Griffin made a remote controller as well for iTunes. The All-In-Wonder can be programmed for more than iTunes, including an Elgato Eye-TV, a device that will allow live play of any TV source (given a working source) and digital recording (like a TiVo).
There are only two older versions of the Eye-TV that will work on an iMac of 400mhz and faster--the Eye-TV USB and the Eye-TV 200 Firewire, both no longer in production and only available through venues like eBay. You may find a unit or two or either still on the shelves at B&H or OWC, but only sporadically if at all. Neither unit is actually rated to work with anything less than a G4, but they will work with G3 units of 400mhz and faster, with the caveat that the digital recording functions may be compromised, especially with the USB version (which was funky to begin with on any machine). And obviously, the Eye-TV 200 Firewire will require a computer with firewire. I have and use all these devices on both iMac G3 and eMac computers. Recording with the Eye-TV 200 firewire can work on a G3, but causes occasional freeze-ups. Both USB and Firewire Eye-TV units work well on eMacs. The computers were purchased for under $50usd each and the add-on devices were similarly priced in acquisitions off eBay. That means I have complete recording and playback of music and video, web-enabled, networked stations for under $100 each. Now THAT is living. :) I look forward to the days when the G5 and Intel iMacs drop so low in price as to warrant replacing their CRT bretheren.
