Hello, I remember going down this path a couple of months ago. The
slim line drive is the same one that is used in most laptops. My
strategy was to locate a laptop on ebay that was
broken(screen,motherboard,keyboard, etc.), but had functional
electronics including the DVD/CD Burner. The issue that presented
itself was that it had to be a computer that had the slot loading
mechanism. Hope this helps.
