Clark,

I appreciate the suggestion.  Both the computer and monitor on the iMac G3 are 
set to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity.  I tried setting them both to 
never, but the wake for Ethernet option did not appear on the energy saver 
options tab.

The Energy Saver options I see on the iMac G3 are:

Wake Options:
 Wake when the modem detects a ring

Other Options:
 Allow power button to sleep the computer
 Restart automatically after a power failure
